iKON is KILLING ME
Yes, you read it right. They're trying to kill me. I can't even think properly as I am trying to write this blog post.
I really like korean music thanks to many years of watching korean dramas. At first, I'm just hooked with OSTs but then I discovered Bigbang early 2017. And it hit me. It hit me real hard. I can't believe I just missed all those years of not knowing that Bigbang exists. I spent months trying to catch up with 10+ yrs of their awesomeness. Just my luck, 4 out 5 members are serving in the army, hence, it will be awhile to release a new album. I enjoy listening to Bigbang, Blackpink and Dean. I am into hiphop, RNB, swagger-type of music.
And I discovered iKON. I'm trying to add some new songs into my Spotify playlist. When I heard "Love Scenario", I thought it's cool. I like the flow of the song and the voices of the guys. So I decided to check out their other songs. Other than LS, the first few songs I repeatedly listened to were Beautiful, #WYD and Climax. I even posted on My Stories (Messenger) screenshot of Climax and I said to myself , "I will cry when I heard them sing this live". Little did I know, this is their Finale performance on the survival show WIN: Who is Next, thus, the song is a very emotional one. Spoiler alert: They lose from Team A which later debuted as Winner. And, then, I checked out their live performances and I was shocked how good-looking this guys are. I, also, enjoyed their guesting in Weekly Idol because of their funny personalities. Then, I watched iKON TV. That's the ultimate game changer. I am now sinking into iKON's black hole. There's no way I can escape from them. Not complaining, anyway.
If you're not familiar with iKON, let me introduce my boys to you.
iKON is a kpop group from YGE debuted last 2015.
The members are the following:
Hanbin (B.I.), Bobby, Jinhwan (Jay), Junhoe, Hyunhyeong (Song), Donghyuk (DK), Chanwoo.
One of their hits are "Love Scenario", "My Type" and "Bling Bling". Recently, they released they're 2nd mini album.
The title track?
KILLING ME.
And yes, as soon as they release the Music Video on Youtube, they've been killing the fans with all those body waves, hip trust, shoulder movement and powerful vocals.
I'm just so proud of my boys on their new album NEW KIDS: Continue. I've been listening non-stop on Spotify.
Along side with Killing Me, they also sing Freedom when promoting on music shows and festivals.
If Killing Me is dark and edgy, Freedom is light and fun. When I first heard Freedom I could picture it to be an OST of an anime series.
The 3rd song from their album is Only You. Ju-ne's voice at the start gives me this positive energy. This got to be my favorite track on their latest album.
Cocktail, on the other hand, is a party song. It has this summery vibe on it and I can imagine the members to be sipping some drinks while partying on a poolside. Song mixing some cocktails, Chanwoo serving the drinks to his hyungs, Bobby planning to pull some pranks, DK laughing at Bobby's plan, Ju-ne being Ju-ne meaning doing some Bruce Lee moves and sounds. B.I. giving criticism to Song's drinks (but drinking them anyway). Don't hate me on my analogy but it could be the We Like to Party of Bigbang. And can I just say this, DK's part in cocktail is so freaking amazing. I really love his falsetto voice.
Lastly, Just for You is a very touching song since this is iKON's gift to the fans. They release this on Youtube after the last episode of iKON TV.
As always, B.I.'s talent on producing never fails. With the help of Bobby and all the members, iKON will surely last for a very long time because of the beautiful music they can create. Just thinking about their concert in the Philippines on Nov. 11 makes me cry out of pure joy. I will surely be there with my Konbat (iKON's lightstick).

iKON is killing me too! I love their songs and choreography as well. Behind all these talents, the members each have unique charms and great personality. I am sinking deeper and deeper into their blackhole and I am more than fine to stay in there forever. 😁😁😁 Thank you Grace for a very great review of their latest album! 😊😊😊
